The Green Club (GC) is a joint initiative of the Higher and Technical Education Department, Government of Maharashtra, and UNICEF Maharashtra with Technical support from ACWADAM,CEE and Why Waste with a mission for water conservation for youth in 13 districts in Maharashtra
In this regards VPM’s B. N. Bandodkar College of Science (Autonomous), Thane (West) formed the “BNB Green Club “in August 2023. It primarily focus on the activities to nurture an environment-friendly approach and to promote sustainability.

Climate Skills – Seeds for Transition India Program
Climate Skills – Seeds for Transition India is a youth-focused climate and sustainability initiative led by the University of Mumbai in partnership with the British Council and funded by HSBC.
Target group: Youth aged 18–30, educators, and marginalized communities.
Main objective: Build practical skills in climate adaptation, mitigation, resilience, sustainability, and green entrepreneurship.
University of Mumbai rollout: Expanded across affiliated colleges in multiple districts, involving master trainers, faculty, and thousands of students.
Key activities:
Hands-on climate and sustainability workshops
Campus biodiversity, energy and water audits
GIS-based biodiversity mapping
Development of urban food forests
Community-based social action projects
Training: Mumbai University selected and trained master trainers and co-facilitators, supported by British Council experts.
Student innovation: Institutions such as KRVIA showcased community-driven sustainability projects, with selected projects receiving seed grants.
Long-term vision: Establish Green Clubs across campuses and explore integrating climate-related participation into academic credits.
