The mangrove ecosystem provides an excellent habitat for birds. To understand the association between mangroves and birds, avifauna from the mangroves and surrounding areas of Sakhartar creek, Ratnagiri was studied from January to December 2019. The species diversity and density of birds in and around mangroves, mudflats, and riverside of Sakhartar creek (17.038646� N, 73.3009225� E ) was studied at regular intervals. Exposed mudflats at ebb tide, served as ideal feeding grounds for winter visitors. Members of families Ardeidae, Charadriidae, Phalacrocoracidae, and Scolopacidae showed dominance over other families. The study shows good biodiversity and abundance of avifauna in the estuarine region.

Tr, online teaching and conduct of online examinations were the new order of the day. In places where educational campuses opened, introduction of blended hybrid online and offline teaching strategies brought about changes in the scenario. These sudden changes, coupled with economic and other constraints caused by the pandemic-related lockdown affected the mental and physical health and emotional wellbeing of the student community which is discussed in the communication. The survey of under-graduate students and their parents revealed overt changes in physical and mental health and behavioral patterns in children which, if things continued in the present manner, would be difficult to control in future in the interest of mankind. Some solutions and mitigation measures to address the problems faced by students; generated with the help of professional expertise to alleviate the lockdown related issues and problems and for better resilience, are dealt with in the communication.

This can be prevented if the threat of cardiovascular diseases is diagnosed as early as possible and to do so very important and basic device is used is a Heart rate monitoring device The device senses the heart rate from the tip of the finger using the IR reflection method and displays it on a three-digit seven-segment with the help of intel 8051 microcontroller.

The popularity of alternative medicine is rising and traditional alternative systems of medicine are gaining in followership in current times.The Unani system of
medicine is based on natural healing, involving balance and harmony of physical, mental and spiritual realms. Plants form an important component of the Unani pharmacopoeia. The area of study viz. Jnanadweep, popular as Vidya Prasarak Mandal’s Thane college
campus is an island campus situated in the Chendani area of Thane city in Maharashtra, India, alongside the Thane creek. The campus is laden with plants, many of which have importance as contributors in traditional systems of healing. The rich assemblage of flora on the campus coupled by the general lack of information and knowledge on their attributes and applications as lants used in the traditional systems of healing and the Unani system of medicine inspired the current investigation. This communication is part of an ongoing study for documenting plants of medicinal value found on the Jnanadweep educational campus.

ABSTRACT
Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) plastic, although has wide industrial application, is resistant to dilute acids, alcohols, aldehydes, and ketones. It is thus a
leading cause of pollution and causes an imbalance in the ecosystem. Some species of insects and weevils, by virtue of their unique gut-microbiota, are known to degrade complex polymers including LDPE. Recent studies have also shed light on the ability of‘yet uncultured bacteria’ in biodegradation of complex polymers. Present study aimed at isolation of probable novel bacteria from the gut of Sitophilus weevil, able to degrade LDPE, using special cultivation media.
