Department of Statistics was established in year 1980. The B.Sc. in Statistics program offered by the Department of Statistics is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in statistical theory, data analysis, and practical application. This undergraduate program equips students with the essential tools to collect, organize, interpret, and draw meaningful conclusions from data. Vision of our department very well describes this goal, which states that

Through a blend of theoretical instruction and hands-on experience through Field projects, students gain proficiency in key areas such as probability, statistical inference, regression analysis, design of experiments, and sampling techniques.
