  • Introduction
    • The Cultural Department of B N Bandodkar College of Science junior college Thane has actively engaged students and faculty members in a variety of cultural activities throughout the academic year. These activities aim to promote creativity, teamwork, leadership, and appreciation for arts and traditions among students and staff.
  • Objectives
    • To encourage student participation in extracurricular and cultural activities.
    • To develop talents in music, dance, drama, art, and literature.
    • To build confidence, communication skills, and a sense of community.
    • To involve teachers as mentors and contributors in cultural programs.

Summary of Activities Conducted

A. Intra-collegiate Activities
  • Activities: Talent show, games, and musical performances.
  • Annual Cultural Fest – “Aakansha 2025”
    • Events: Solo and group dance, singing, drama, rangoli, mehendi, and fashion show.
    • Participation: Over 500 students and 30 staff members
  • Traditional Day and Ethnic Wear Competition
    • Celebration of Indian heritage.
    • Teachers and students dressed in traditional attire and performed cultural acts.
  • Inter-House Competitions
    • Literary: Elocution, Debate, Essay Writing (Marathi, Hindi, English)
    • Fine Arts: Painting, Sketching, Poster Making
B. Inter-Collegiate Participation
  • Youth Festival (University Level)
    • Students represented the college in dance, music, and theater events.
    • 2 students qualified and performed classical dance and poetry recitation.
    • Appreciation certificate received for excellent coordination.
  • Teacher Involvement
    • Faculty members served as judges, event coordinators, and rehearsal mentors.
    • Workshops were conducted by teachers on:
      • Public Speaking
      • Folk Art and Theatre
    • Staff Cultural Day was celebrated, including singing and drama performances by teachers.
